Vegan Culinary Institute La Dolce Vegan! Challenge:
These taste good but even after refrigerating and even sticking in the freezer they still are sticky and messy. Since my husband likes anything sweet he will still eat them though. Probably won't make these again. Not much more I can say about that! I'm glad this was an easy cooking day because I've had a killer headache all day.
How cool that you are blogging your way through this!!
ReplyDeleteHang in there on the vegan thing-if you can find a coop or something to join or start ordering some organic grains and other things in bulk, even off of Amazon, it will be easier. My folks live way out in the boonies, and they do really well. It was hard for me, it was over a decade ago that I quit the dairy-but nothing was vegan then!!! Now it is getting SO much easier-and you can also just keep it simple and eat a lot of brown rice, quinoa, beans, veggies, and fruits. If you like Indian food at all, check out my Indian Slow Cooker Posts. I use Anupy Singla's book, which is nearly all vegan and fat free and CHEAP and SIMPLE and super yummy!!!!! But it is Indian-and some folks don't care for that spice combo. But the food is the easiest I have ever made!!!! I also have used a pressure cooker, the new type, alot.
Thanks for the encouragement! The last few years has seen alot of growth around our community. I am blessed to have a few well-stocked grocery stores 10-20 minutes away now. I still do order a few items online once in awhile. That doesn't mean there has been a growth in vegans, though. That's why it is so nice to connect with people online who share the same philosophy.
